Here is a standard brick fireplace that we gave a fresh, modern and updated new look. We covered the existing brick with a slate tile. We custom built a mantle and covered the upper brick with sheetrock. We wired the upper brick for a flat screen TV. After the sheetrock was installed, we hung a flat screen TV mounting bracket. We added some red paint and some custom granite and waa laa, now it “pops”. In the two smaller vent openings, we installed fans to help move the heated air into the room.
